The University of Malaga (UMA) is a public institution which promotes outstanding research and teaching within the European Higher Education Area. The University follows an educational model which is employment-orientated and accredited in Europe. Its vigour and growth over recent years have led to it becoming a reference point for universities in Spain. This institution is committed to technology and innovation. The wide research culture within the UMA allows more than 300 researchers develop 210 open research lines.             The new UMA Strategic Plan is consistent with the Bologna Declaration which is expected to make a big impact in the nearby future, and will be completely set in 2010. The Bologna guidelines introduce a learning system where practical formation takes priority over lectures and theoretical aspects. The Bologna Declaration establishes an international system of credits and makes easier the mobility of students.
